Training
Working with Asbestos Products (1 day)
This course is intended for general maintenance personnel and provides all the necessary training for everyone who is required to undertake tasks detailed in HSG 210 Asbestos Essentials Task Manual. The training covers safe working methods and the equipment required for specific tasks.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 prevents anyone from working with Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) unless they have receive the correct training which details howsuch work should be undertaken.
We have prepared a customised course that enables people to work with non-licensable ACM’s. It is designed as an extension to our Asbestos Awareness Training which is a mandatory requirement for anyone liable to be exposed to Asbestos. This is particularly useful for people involved in Electrical Work, Plumbing, Roofing, Housing Maintenance, i.e. any work within a building!
This relieves the requirement of sub-contracting work to Asbestos Removal Companies; you will be able to undertake certain removal jobs in-house.
Examples of the types of work possible with this training:
- Short tasks with Asbestos Insulating Board (Drilling / Cutting: Ceiling Tiles, Fire-Doors, Access Hatches etc)
- Work with Asbestos Cement (Corrugated Sheets, Soffits, Down-Pipes & Soil-Stacks, Cladding, Fire-Doors, Bath-Panels etc)
- Work involving Artex Coatings
- Replacement of Asbestos Textiles (Rope Seals, Gaskets, Fire-Blankets etc)
- Work with Composite Products (Vinyl Floor Tiles, Toilet Seats / Cisterns, Fire Hearths, Window Sills)
- Work with Bitumen Products (Roof-Felt, Cast-Iron Pipes with Paint, DPC’s etc)
